Trains O Scale

0 scale (or 0 gauge) is a scale commonly used for toy trains and model railroading. Originally introduced by German toy manufacturer Märklin around 1900, by the 1930s three-rail alternating current 0 gauge was the most common model railroad scale in the United States and remained so until the early 1960s. In Europe, its popularity declined before World War II due to the introduction of smaller scales. Britain stuck to a lower voltage direct current.

Minolta 35mm Camera

Minolta 35mm Camera

Minolta has a line of digital point-and-shoot cameras to compete in the digital photography market. Their DiMAGE line includes digital cameras and imaging software as well as film scanners.

Minolta created a new category of “bridge cameras,” with the introduction of the DiMAGE 7. Designed for use by people familiar with 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras but without the added cost or complication of interchangeable lenses or optical reflex viewfinders, the DiMAGE incorporated many of the features of a higher-level film camera with the simplicity of smaller compact digicams. The camera had a traditional zoom ring and focus ring on the lens barrel and was equipped with an electronic viewfinder (EVF) rather than the direct optical reflex view of an SLR. It added other features such as a histogram, and the cameras were compatible with Minolta’s flashes for modern film SLRs.

Lasik Surgery

Lasik Surgery

LASIK surgery has often been promoted as an instant fix for eye defects. While it is a very fast procedure, usually taking less than a minute for each eye, LASIK surgery can sometimes require half an hour to properly correct the defects in an eye. As with all medical procedures, the length of LASIK surgery will depend on the visual problem being treated and the variety of LASIK surgery being done.

Laser Hair

Laser Hair

Epilation by laser was performed experimentally for about 20 years before it became commercially available in the mid 1970s. Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) epilators, though technically not a laser, use xenon flash lamps that emit full spectrum light. Laser and light-based methods, sometimes called phototricholysis or photoepilation, are now most commonly referred to collectively as “laser hair removal”. One of the first published articles describing laser hair removal was authored by the group at Massachusetts General Hospital in 1998.
